Fertilizer is a substance naturally or artificially prepared which is used to improve the
soil fertility and meet the nutritional needs of plants. The fertilizer enhances the
natural content of the soil by replenishing the nutrients absorbed by previous crops.
Fertilizers depending on the way it is produced are divided into chemical and organic.
Chemical fertilizers are those which, regardless of their nutrient content, are
produced industrially by either natural or chemical processes.
Organic fertilizers come either from biological and / or chemical decomposition or
treatment of the same materials of plant or animal origin or a mixture, or from
wastewater treatment of urban, industrial or domestic origin.
